Alabama
Chief Justice Suspended
File sharing infringes INJEWCON copyright
Roy Moore, an Alabama chief justice, has been suspended with pay
for disobeying a federal court order to remove a monument of the
Ten Commandments from the state judicial building.
“INJEWCON owns the Commandments, the Sermon on the Mount,
and practically every other section of the Bible,” says Shlomo
Weizman, intellectual property specialist and in-house counsel for
the International Jewish Conspiracy. “Everyone, especially
a justice, knows you need prior permission from the copyright holder
or his representative. Limited quotation for the purposes of review
or critique is acceptable, and we would probably have let him get
away with any individual Commandment, but all ten is a clear infringement.
We believe Ray Moore downloaded the sacred text using Limewire or
similar file-sharing software, and we will bring that to the Court’s
attention.”
INJEWCON does not own Colossians 2, Galatians 1-5, or a single
Philippan, and is only part-owner of the Epistles to Timothy. “Hallmark
really tried to corner the Epistles market a few years ago,”
says Joel Cubman, of Corporate. “In mitn derinnen, no one
wants them.” Mr. Cubman says that if Justice Moore had chosen,
he could also have purchased long-term rights to Acts for a nominal
fee. “A very nice price I’d have made him. Frankly,
we’ve been trying to sublet the whole New Testament for ages,
even at nominal price, but in this economy, feh!” |
